Two Into One

This client was in need of a large town home that they could lock and leave for half the year. However, they needed a guest room , and office that could be turned into a guest room as well. A bit under 3,000 square feet. So they chose to take two units and turn them into one open living space. This space is wonderful to gather their large family together when they are in residence, yet cozy and welcoming for just the two of them as well.

Contemporary Cottage

Cape Cod

Street of Dreams Nantucket

This was one of those projects of a lifetime. All the craftsman and trades I worked with were wonderful during the build of this Award Winning Street of Dreams home. Timeless, and a classic. This home will never look dated.

Updated and Opened Up

Simple description these clients requested for some major changes to their family home. The floor plan was closed in with a fireplace dividing the area into two small unusable spaces. As many are finding these days, who needs a “formal living room”. Not an easy task, but with a good engineer and contractor, the fireplace was removed from the middle of the home, raising one side that had a sunken living room up to the same level as the other spaces on the first floor. Making a great room for the entire family to enjoy. Wide open, updated and a really fun space for all. The rest of the home received great updates as well.

The Lake House

When a long time friend requested design help with his new home, I said it would be a pleasure. After viewing the lot and architectural drawings, I was certain it would be a great project. The surfaces needed to be hearty to stand up to all the fabulous woodwork and stone. This home sits perched on a bluff above the lake as if it were a piece of art. The views are wonderful, and you could not wish for a more wonderful home to entertain in.

Graceful and Grand

This home lived up to the title. I worked with a wonderful finish carpenter and cabinet maker on this home who implemented my designs perfectly. Part of the building process is to have a good team, and I have many contractors with great teams of professionals, just like I had the pleasure of working with on this one. It will be a timeless statement for many years.

Simple, Easy Care, with Smaller Footprint

These clients wanted a home they could retire and live in easily. Low maintenance finishes, but with high style. This home is simple, yet still has a great entertaining quality. After all, retirement does not mean you want to stop having family and friends over for gatherings, and dinner parties. You can still have it all even if in a smaller footprint.

Beau, Vieux and Heureaux

All words descriptive works my clients used when planning to build their French Country Home. Beau , wishing it to be beautiful, Vieux, wanting it to look old/vintage, and most important Heureaux, happy, a home for their family to live happy for many years to come.

Timeless

Built on spec, the builder asked me to design the interiors to be timeless, which could appeal to many buyers. This home has many lovely surfaces, but they all meld into one another to keep the eye moving. This is not a particularly large home, so the rooms needed to be harmonious as to make all the great room areas seem larger. The new home buyer, as it did not stay on the market for long, loves their new ageless home.

Perfect Laundry/Office Combo

When my client purchased this home, it did not have a laundry room. She had settled on just a washer dryer being placed behind closet doors off the kitchen. There was a quite a bit of room behind the garage on the lot, and Volia’ , a great laundry, mud room and office space was found. The home sat empty for many years, and needed lots of added wood floors, millwork details, new cabinetry, and repurposing of spaces which helped to make the house a warm welcoming space.
